Cutline is estimating software for painting contractors. This page explains what information we keep, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.

What we collect

Your account: your name, email, company name and password (stored only as a secure hash by our sign in provider).

What you put in Cutline: your rates and prices, your customers, job addresses, measurements, photos, proposals, signatures and work orders.

Basic use and error data: pages opened, buttons used and error reports, so we can fix problems. We remove prices, customer details and tokens before this leaves the app.

If you fill in the contact form on our home page: your name, company, email, crew size and the tool you use today.

How we use it

To run Cutline for you: calculate estimates, send proposals and work orders, take deposits and send the emails you ask for.

To answer you and to improve the product. We do not sell your information and we do not use your customers’ details for our own marketing.

Your customers’ information

You decide what customer information goes into Cutline and you are responsible for having the right to use it. We only process it to provide the service to you.

Who helps us run Cutline

We use trusted providers for hosting and database (Vercel, Supabase), email (Resend), card payments (Stripe), product analytics (PostHog) and error reports (Sentry). They only get what they need to do their job.

Card numbers go straight to Stripe. Cutline never sees or stores them.

Each company is private

Every company has its own workspace. People from one company cannot see another company’s customers, prices or documents.

Keeping and deleting

We keep your information while your account is open. You can ask us to export it or delete it at any time, and we will do it within 30 days, except what we must keep by law (for example payment records).
